CAUTION!!! Winter backcountry recreation carries a significant risk of injury or death. Before you go into the backcountry, you MUST make yourself aware of the risks involved, and assume all responsibility associated with those risks. Neither Rod Gee, the Mount Remo Backcountry Society nor any of its members, this site's webmaster, nor any other individuals who have contributed information for this site, assume any liability with respect to the information presented or its use.

Many of the areas described include avalanche terrain. Your group should be highly skilled in snow stability and terrain assessment, be equipped with beacons, shovels and probes, and have the skills to respond to avalanche rescues and other emergencies. If this is not you, get equipped and obtain professional instruction or guide services before you go.

Other Resources:
- Local snow stability information is shared on the Canadian Avalanche Association (CAA) Skeena/Babine mountain trip talk discussion forum.
- Click "Northwest-BC" under "CAC Forecasts" here for the latest local Public Avalanche Bulletin.
- This site now uses the Avalanche Terrain Exposure Scale (ATES) rating system.
